Created chaos on "Why Plant Trees" and "The Letter". It was a short day. We all had social events to take part in. All songs are considered and finalized. We cut the list down from 18 to 13. All that's left is mixing for Sunday.

DAY 2 - Making noise with a cassette player. Drinking lots of tap water. Phil is taking a papa nap. Jon wrote his packing list for Egypt (it's not complete yet). Ben almost got hit by a snowmobile. Daniel drank chocolate milk in preparation for final vocals.

This is an interesting lineup of bands for the PHONOTROPIC on Friday the 18th. MoneyHouse Gold, Floatation Walls, The Great Fiction, and The Albertans (from New York). The show starts early at 9pm sharp (the first band actually goes on at 9) and only costs $5.

The Great Fiction gathered together during the weekend and recorded the rest of their list of new songs. The list comes out to about 16 or 17 songs. TGF is not quite sure what the songs will make up. Maybe a new album? You can hear some of the tracks at their upcoming show on APRIL 24th at the Pikeroom in Pontiac, MI.

The Great Fiction tracked half of their new LP over the first weekend in April, the rest will be completed in similar fashion by the end of the year. They're trying a slightly different approach - everyone playing together (fancy that!) with minimal overdubs... same fiction, less friction. It seems to be working out.

Daniel Zott will be featured on the Detroit Today Show on WDET 101.9 on Nov. 1oth, 2008, the day before his double album is released. If you live in Detroit, please tune in and support your local NPR station. The show starts at 10am. Daniel will play around 11am. All the songs played will be off his upcoming release.

THE GREAT FICTION are playing along with The Stationary Set and Manna and Quail. They will be opening the show, so be sure to get there right at doors. Doors open at 8pm. Cost is $10. They will be playing most of the new tracks from the "Hiding Under Covers" EP, and will also perform some of their newest songs to be released on the next LP in early 2009.
